Last updated July 22, 2026 — Session 6 played: under the manor at last — a purse from Halia, the Beer Gambit, a bargain with a one-eyed thing in the dark, and the crypt’s dead on their feet.
Where We Are
The assault on Tresendar Manor has begun. It opened with a feast — and a purse: 100 gold from Halia Thornton, passed through Toblen “for expenses,” with word that the other hundred follows the correspondence. The party pocketed the gold, turned it into nets and crossbow bolts at the Lionshield Coster, and then ran the cleverest play of the campaign so far: two cases of beer and a note forged in “the Spider’s” hand, delivered up the hill by Grista herself — so the Redbrands below spent the evening drinking to their patron’s health instead of wondering why their tap house had gone quiet.
At midnight the party went in the front. Three Redbrands stumbled into the fog by the cellar pool; two died fighting, and the third — netted — talked first, claiming Glasstaff isn’t home and giving up a secret door, though a man in a net will say many things. He didn’t survive the night either. Beyond the door: a vast cavern split by a crevasse, and Ssarnak — a one-eyed nothic that speaks directly into your mind and trades secrets for beautiful things. It traded well: the north bridge is the safe one, and a hidden way leads down toward Glasstaff’s office. It also kept Newton — the golden, ruby-eyed figurine is its “guest” until the party brings something prettier.
The night ended in the Tresendar crypts: three sealed sarcophagi, six dead men in rusted mail rising to their feet, Versace in bear form at the center of the room — and behind the other door, someone whimpering. Initiative is rolled. We resume mid-swing.

Open Threads
Active (Lords’ Alliance commission, 200gp bounty):
- End the Redbrand threat in Phandalin — underway: the party is inside the hideout beneath Tresendar Manor, three more Redbrands down, six skeletons up, and the deep rooms still dark. (Sildar Hallwinter)
- Rescue Mirna and Nars Dendrar — Thel’s wife and son, missing since the day he was killed. Suspected to be held by the Redbrands. (Sildar Hallwinter)
- Find Iarno Albrek — a missing Lords’ Alliance wizard, gone for nearly a year. (Sildar Hallwinter)
- Find Gundren Rockseeker — captured by goblins, taken to Cragmaw Castle somewhere in the Neverwinter Wood. He was carrying a map to Wave Echo Cave. (Sildar Hallwinter)
Side arrangements:
- Retrieve Glasstaff’s correspondence — 100gp advance paid (via Toblen); 100gp more on delivery to Halia Thornton. The party plans to collect the papers either way and decide later who reads them. (Miner’s Exchange)
- Ransom Newton — Ssarnak, the nothic under the manor, holds the golden figurine and wants “something more beautiful” in trade.
- The Spider — two IOUs and a wagon note (“Two more wagons from the south. Same as last time. — G.”) found at the Sleeping Giant. Who is the Spider?
- Tsernoth of Iriaebor — Sister Garaele is asking her Harper contacts about the necromancer who traded Agatha for Bowgentle’s spellbook.
Resolved:
Visit Agatha at Conyberry— done, Session 5. The comb was presented, the question answered, and everyone walked home. (25gp + three potions paid by Sister Garaele.)
Available but not yet pursued:
- Investigate Old Owl Well — walking corpses reported in the northeast hills (heard around town; Daran Edermath has not yet been spoken to directly).
- Clear orc raiders at Wyvern Tor — standing town bounty, 100gp (Harbin Wester).
Phandalin — Your Base of Operations
Phandalin is a small frontier town in the foothills of the Sword Mountains, a few days’ travel south of Neverwinter.
Places in town:
- Stonehill Inn — where you’re sleeping
- Barthen’s Provisions — general store; Gundren’s drop-off point
- Lionshield Coster — weapons & armor
- Miner’s Exchange — ore assayer
- Shrine of Luck — Tymora’s shrine
- Townmaster’s Hall — Phandalin’s seat of government (such as it is)
- Edermath Orchard — Daran’s place
- Alderleaf Farm — Qelline’s farm
- Tresendar Manor — the troubled ruin on the eastern hill
- Sleeping Giant — the Redbrand tap house, also east end
Townsfolk you’ve met:
- Sildar Hallwinter — your patron, Lords’ Alliance agent
- Toblen Stonehill — innkeeper at the Stonehill, friendly and informative; threw the victory feast, and passed you Halia’s purse with visible discomfort
- Trilena Stonehill — Toblen’s wife and the inn’s cook, sharper than her husband; ends arguments with breakfast
- Linene Graywind — Lionshield Coster, principled, owes you a debt
- Sister Garaele — cleric of Tymora at the Shrine — and, as she revealed after Conyberry, a member of the Harpers
- Harbin Wester — townmaster, well-meaning, ineffectual; swore you in as Phandalin protectorate, now keeper of your Redbrand prisoner
- Halia Thornton — guildmaster of the Miner’s Exchange; offered 100gp for Glasstaff’s correspondence; named by Sildar as a Zhentarim agent
- Carp Alderleaf — 10-year-old halfling boy; tipped you a copper and led you to the secret tunnel
- Grista — keeper of the shuttered Sleeping Giant; delivered the beer (and the lie) that bought you a drunk garrison. Ask her nothing; pour her one.
Townsfolk you’ve heard about but not yet met:
- Daran Edermath — retired adventurer at the orchard
- Qelline Alderleaf — halfling farmer; mother of Carp
- Thel Dendrar — woodcarver, murdered by the Redbrands a tenday before you arrived
- Mirna Dendrar — Thel’s wife, missing since the day he was killed
