The Order of the Gauntlet
A militant order of faithful seekers of justice. Members swear to protect the innocent, smite evil, and bring retribution against those who would prey on others.
In Brief
The Order of the Gauntlet draws its members from clerics, paladins, monks, and dedicated lay warriors — people of faith who believe that virtue requires action, not just contemplation. Members come from many different deities (Tyr, Torm, Helm, Bahamut, and others), unified by a shared commitment to active justice.
The Order is well-organized, well-funded, and unafraid to act publicly. They run training houses, sponsor temple militias, and quietly bankroll adventuring parties whose interests align with their own.
Local Member
Daran Edermath — retired drow marshal of the Dragon Coast, now of Phandalin. He keeps an orchard and an ear to the ground. The Order considers him “honorably retired” but he is, in practice, their eyes in the western Sword Coast frontier.
What The Order Wants In Phandalin
- The Redbrands gone — by force if necessary, by trial if possible.
- Any servants of greater evils (cultists, undead, aberrations) identified and removed.
- Reliable adventurers known by name to the Order, who can be called on for future missions.
