Session: Konfronting Klarg & Onward

The Story So Far
The party finished the Cragmaw Hideout crawl by defeating the bugbear chief Klarg in his den. They rescued Sildar Hallwinter, recovered the Lionshield caravan goods, and a strange figurine identified by one of the druids as a Figurine of Wondrous Power in the shape of a newt.
The party then made their way back to Phandalin along the Triboar Trail with Sildar and the recovered cargo. They were paid by Elmar Barthen for delivering Gundren’s supplies, and rewarded by Linene Graywind of the Lionshield Coster for recovering the stolen cargo.
That evening, while exploring Phandalin for the first time, the party crossed paths with a group of Redbrands in the town square who attempted to collect a “newcomer tax” — and the encounter went hot.
Loose Threads
- Gundren Rockseeker is being held at a place called Cragmaw Castle, somewhere in the Neverwinter Wood. Sildar Hallwinter is trying to learn its location.
- A wizard named Iarno Albrek has been missing in Phandalin for nearly a year. Sildar would like him found.
- The Redbrands’ presence in Phandalin is no longer a rumor — it is a problem.
