Barthen’s Provisions

The largest general store in Phandalin. Owned and run by Elmar Barthen, a lean, balding human with ink-stained sleeves and a friendly demeanor.

Located on the north side of Phandalin’s town square, Barthen’s stocks everything a settler, miner, or adventurer might need short of weapons and armor (for that, see the Lionshield Coster): rope, rations, mining tools, torches, oil, lanterns, bedrolls, ink, paper, simple cookware, dried herbs, salt, candles, and a hundred other small things.

Elmar runs the shop with a couple of young clerks. He is well-connected with the merchant caravans running between Neverwinter and Phandalin and is generally the first person to hear of road trouble. He has been “taxed” by Redbrand thugs more than once and is quietly furious about it.

The party delivered Gundren’s wagonload of provisions here. Elmar paid them 10gp each as promised and threw in extra rations and basic supplies on the house.
