Linene Graywind — Agent of the Lionshield Coster

Tough, principled human woman. Runs the Lionshield Coster trading post in Phandalin on behalf of the Lionshield merchant company out of Yartar.

Personality

Linene is not interested in being your friend. She is interested in being your reliable supplier. She speaks plainly, never overcharges, never gives discounts, and will throw you out of her shop if she suspects you are working with the wrong people. The Redbrands have been told — twice — that she will sell them nothing. They have not pressed the point.

What She Wants

The party has already won her loyalty by recovering the Lionshield caravan goods Klarg’s bugbears stole.

  • She paid the 50gp reward when they delivered the goods.
  • She will sell them anything in the adventuring gear table at standard PHB prices.
  • She will quietly set aside a piece or two of weapons or armor she thinks one of them needs, at fair price.
  • She despises the Redbrands and will share whatever she knows about them. She is not a fighter, but she has friends in Neverwinter who are.

What She Knows

  • The Redbrands have been raiding Lionshield caravans on the Triboar Trail for months. She does not know if Glasstaff is personally directing it, but she knows the gang is being supplied with weapons she did not sell them.
  • She has seen one of the Redbrands’ lieutenants, a man named Hyrik — heavyset, scarred across the forehead, walks with a limp — coming and going from the east end of town. Probably from Tresendar Manor.
  • Sildar Hallwinter is “the only honest man with a badge for a hundred miles.”
